slow & haste
Besides the fact that S and H are my initials i realized that it indirectly describes the two art styles I center myself on.

Oil painting takes time; it requires a thought out plan, as well as a general understanding of colors, light, and perspective. Even after it's finished, patience is required, as drying can sometimes take years. Knowledge of the techniques have passed down through many generations, such that I find it an endlessly fascinating medium. Over the past year of focusing on oil, I have found endless facets to explore.

Monotype, on the other hand, clears the mind. It doesn’t require overthinking the subject matter. Things simply emerge, and it’s up to the viewer to find meaning in them - or not. It’s uncomplicated, exciting, and a bit hasty.
vita and about
Since I was a kid, I’ve loved creating art – it’s always been something that excites me. My best teacher in the creative process has actually been time itself, together with simply learning by doing. Only about three years ago I discovered oil painting, and since then it’s become a challenging but very rewarding hobby that I’d love to keep developing.

I also have a background in communication design. These days I work part-time as a freelancer in two directions: on the one hand as an artist, and on the other as a graphic designer – mainly taking on smaller projects and teaming up with agencies.
